Its always across the silhouette
That we decide
Figuring out who it could be..
Dances by the fire,
Angry Wolves taking the lunge,
Hapless sheep or would you say
Its tough to change shoes
It was Newton's 'Static friction'
But was I the sheep or the wolf
The smug smile has faded away
The acquired wisdom has withered apart
And alas, the realization is here
Sometime I was the Sheep
Sometime the wolf
Perhaps, the shore has been already bereft
Footprints of both will stay for a while
Prey and Predator changing the role
Its not fair the sheep learn t
but So has the wolf ,hasn't he
It just mattered which side of
"silhouette"
Have you been..

Slice of India
I think I am elligible to write blogs like this now.
I love my country but yet I choose to live in another
So here is the mockumentary of the events which unfolded
during my last trip back to motherland.
I love my country but yet I choose to live in another
So here is the mockumentary of the events which unfolded
during my last trip back to motherland.
- I was disappointed that we havent been divided properly. The archaic divide like
religion, regional, caste, creed, financial, political dont seem enough to suffice our massive population. We need to be also divided more on themes likes colgate,close-up or Dabur laal Dant manjan user,Reliance user or Tata-indicom user,Maruti 800 users and Non-Maruti 800 users,Rupa and VIP (wink) and so on.
- Irrespective of how many times I return back from from IG airport the cops think
I am carrying excess of alcohol or some contraband from Duty Free.(I wonder if Vijay Mallaya has been using a lookalike to promote Kingfisher Beer) . You can very well see his reaction. - I was really impressed as we are still able to identify the real issues .
For example,Teli samaaj(community) was able to identify that agitation against usage of word Teli in new movie Kaminey was more important than supporting Poor Gangu Teli's family who committed suicide because of drought situation.I mean some guy commiting suicide whats the Big Deal ?
- Apparently 25-35 years back aliens conducted a dangerous experiments on Indian females. These hapless ladies were secreatly impregnated with alien chromosomes (or
whatever ) and they had these special kids. All the females who were using videshi brands like Garnier and L'oreal gave birth to creative directors who envisioned "Reality " T.V shows and the ones using Desi Brands like Shilpa Charcha Bindi went on to be mothers of those who created "Talent-hunt" competitions
which explains flood of reality and talent hunt shows on Indian Television. - And guess what united the whole country ,"Rakhi Sawant Ka Swayamvar".
Kudos to this lady.We all love to hate and admonish her and it was surprising as we found that an alien conspiracy overshot NDTV imagine TRP rating because we all hated it unanimously.Who would watch it anyway ?
- A talent-hunt competition is being held to scout for F1 team from india and all auto rickshaw drivers are allowed to participate as FIA saw immense
potential in their maneuverability.Who knows or Pappu or Narasimhan might be popping champagne bottles. Felipe Massa criticized this competition saying it is unfair as Indian rickshaw drivers undergo rigorous training on Indian roads.
- Eli Roth(Director of Hostel) and James Waan(Director of
Saw)have been vying to sign Varun Gandhi for their movies after Quentitin Tarantino declared he is find of the decade after his fiery speech in Pilibhit.Rumor is that Inglourious Basterds will be remastered with Varun Gandhi replacing Lt. Aldo Raine which was previously played by Brad Pitt. Mr. Gandhi apparently asked Tarantino to shut-up after which Tarantino has been showing suicidal tendencies.
- In another new development apparently Sharon Stone seems to have hired top notch
lawyer Ram Jethmalani to fight Shiney Ahuja case. Sharon seemed pretty keen on signing Shiney Ahuja in Basic Insticts 3. Stone apparently said it Mr. Ahuja could have taught Mr. Douglas a few lessons.
- Another Indian making it big in international forum was RSS chief Pramod Muthalik, the firebrand crusader who
painstaking efforts in Managalore Pub incident has been widely appreciated in international circles. LeGoBaD International (Lets-Go-Back-to-Dark-Ages International), headed by Iranian Premier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appreciated Mr. Muthalik's effort for continuosly spearheading efforts to strive to push modernization and liberalization back bring back Dark Ages back to world.Mr.Muthalik accepted the honor humbly and reaffirmed his commitment to bring Dark Ages to India.
- Baba Ramdev has been decided to be sent be as official candidate of India for the office of
United Nations Secretary-Genera after Shashi Tharoor. He has shown tremendous grasp of subjects be it matter of Politics,Medicine,Social awareness,Law,Entertainment,Fitness..list goes on. Baba ji seemed to have answer for everything be it swine flu, laws for acceptance of gay or even castigating reality shows. Now thats what we call Raam-BaaN .

Kaminey-- A treat to watch

Professionalism exudes in the acting, direction and screenplay of this brilliant movie
It lives up to its name in sense of its name.
Every character has defined affable instincts to charm the viewers,
Be it charismatic Drug lord Taashi, Cocaine addicted capricious Michail,Trigger happy Bong brothers,
real team corrupt cop duo and last not the least and probably the best Bhopay bhau (Amol Gupte),brain behind taare Zameen pe ,all Kudos to you Sir,Where were you hidden?
Whether is cajoling big eared nephew or his brash extrovert sister to menacing Charlie. He seems in control.
I loved the moment he barges in charlie's house and embarks in amusing diatribe with cocaine intoxicated Michail.
Undoubtedly,I am fan of Bhopay bhau like Bheeku Mhatre from Satya.
But I pray he doesnt get type casted.
Shahid kapoor shines across the movie
whether its the lisping Charlie or stuttering Guddu,he credibly diffrentiates in both the characters.
Priyanka Chopra is good too although i am not a big fan but she does commendable job as extrovert, brash Marathi Mulgi as she defends his hapless vulnerable lover either from cops or goons of his brother or cajoling him in candid moments .
Vishal bharadwaj rectified the mistake he did in Om kara ,he carried the tension of the movie to end .
First time I saw it I liked it but not like exceptionally brilliant but only when i saw it again i realized that its a movie to be enjoyed not as a story but
the remarkable moments it offers right from word go..
You will like it everytime you see it.
It is not the feel good types with perfect climax.
Amazing soundtrack :Kamninay Title track
and pehli baar both guaranteed to haunt you.
A Must watch.

Gulaal --Heady Cocktail of College Politics,Power Play and Innocence Lost
Anurag kashyap deserves all the accolades.
If "No Smoking" failed to deliver he comes back with
Dev D which I thought was his pinnacle of creativity.
But he comes back with "Gulal" which is the most unique experiment with Indian College politics.
It has Brash,Honest,Hard-hitting visuals,
with each characters having their own shades .
The haunting backdrop of Rajasthan and shade of "gulaal"
in the scenes of movie sets the mood.
But it will be worth mentioning the poetry, the polictical-sarcasm laced lyrics, the punch-lines just go ahead
and accentuate the underlying message of the movie.
Few characters have shades which have been hithertho ventured
in any Indian movie like reluctant-brash Rajput Ransa,Power hungry Kiran,Cocooned Pariah Anuja ,the shaky main protagonist "Dilip" or bumbling "Prithvi Bana"(who incidently is also
reason for that haunting music and fiery lyrics) .
KK as usual is a consistent performer,I was captivated right from the start when he deliver the acerbic speech.
The movie is laced with obsenity no-barred which make perfect
sense with the mood of the movie .
I can go on and on.But let the Brevity prevail.
Hats off Anurag ..Keep 'em coming

Get busy living or get Busy Dying
Shawshank Redemption
Ellis boyd "Red" utters the Gems
Andy incarcerated for 20 years in Shawshank should loose all hope..
give away..
but instead Andy refuses to give up..refuses to die and utters a gem
Although after 40 years of confinement
Red utters: Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.
Andy Dufresne: [in letter to Red] Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
Damn it Andy You are all in my head.Let Red rule for now.He makes sense.

Slumdog Millionaire-"Revel Notoriety" or "Die in oblivion"
When Mark,my Spanish flatmate, walked in after watching SlumDog
and asked me "Is it really like that ? Is everyone so poor out there ?"
I could not help shaking my head with "Its-not-all-like-that"
I mean there is no denying Its exists
Poverty
Beggary
crime
Communal violence
Corruption
Danny Boyle just bolstered the shady underbelly of India.I dont blame
him a bit,he is making a movie,he is telling a story and he tells it
with brilliance.
He is not making a statement on India .
But still there is a morbid fascination with everything sordid in India. He packaged all stereotype India has together to make the background for protagonist and other characters stark and ugly .
Just like an average tourist happily capturing poverty of India
on ground of creativity .
The movie harps on the fact subconsciously that India is marred with such incidents ,maybe it is .
But then thats not India in nut-shell.
Having said that I still say that I enjoyed the movie.
But its difficult for me digest the fact that millions of non-indians
out there will walk out of the theatre conjuring images of abject poverty, corruption and crime for my country .
It poses a question to every Indian "Revel Notoriety" or "Die in oblivion".Rehman rocks anyway :-)
May be the "All characters in this movie are fictional and has no resemblance to dead or living " at start could be made bolder before
screening.
Just a Thought :)
